I will start with today. I must say I have just earned the Mother of the Year Award. I was taking MM to school this morning and everything was going great. I arrived early, MM was happy, all was good in our world. I get out of the car, open her door, lock the car and go in to get her. I realized she has lost her pacifier so I start digging. Can't find the darned thing anywhere. So I get out to look on the other side of the car. Get over there to realize, oh yeah, I locked the doors. Go back to my side when I find out, oh crap! All the doors are locked and my keys are still inside. AND MM is still in the car!! I am freaking out at this point. Another mother let me use her phone, because of course, my phone is also locked in the car. I call Chris and he immediately gets in his truck from work to go home and get the spare. But you have to remember that we live in Sherwood, daycare is in LR and Chris works in West LR. So this is going to take at least an hour. By this time Miss Patsy, the daycare Assistant Director comes out. She goes back in to call the police. MM is still fine during all this. Laughing at her silly Momma through the window, even playing patty cake, wondering why in the world she was still in her car seat while I am just peering through the window at her. Not 10 minutes later, here comes a fire truck, sirens blazing. Can we say embarrassing! They had her out in just a few minutes. But there was still plenty of time for the other parents to look and smile at how crazy I am. But she was safe and happy so that is all that matters.
She is crawling EVERYWHERE and getting into EVERYTHING! She loves to push buttons on the DVD player and remotes are her favorite. We are really starting to realize the importance of baby proofing!
We have started to eat solid snacks. She loves the Gerber mini cheetos and puffs. She also will munch on a cracker or two. We are still having issues with sippy cups. I have tried every kind they make. She is getting to be a pro at using a real cup in the bathtub though. She loves to grab her rinsing cup and drink bath water like a big girl. Gross if you ask me but whatever. She can hold her own bottle, when she wants to! Most times she would rather Mom or Dad do it, which we are fine with it. She is growing up too fast anyway!
We have been sick lately. We went to the doctor Saturday morning after running a fever Friday night. With her kidney reflux we can never be too careful. She has an ear infection in her right ear so we are on another antibiotic. She is feeling better now, but still has a little cough and runny nose.
She still loves to play patty cake, peek-a-boo, give fives and our new thing, giving kisses! It is so sweet. We say "give me kisses" and she leans forward and presses her lips to ours. Her mouth is wide open though! It is pretty funny. We are loving it!
We got into our first fight last week at school. I guess she lost because she came home with a huge scratch on her face. It really wasn't a fight, but another little girl did scratch her left cheek. The nerve! Never bothered her a bit. Yesterday at school she was playing and fell and bit her upper lip. She still only has two bottom teeth. They iced her and she was better. Our little girl is tough! She is not scared of anything! Which scares us to death!
I guess that is all that is happening with us lately. I cannot believe that in less than two months, our little Monkey will be 1 year old! This year has flown by. Don't you wish you could slow things down a bit?
